Multi-functional Intelligent Vehicle

A track-following racing smart car based on a switchable photoelectric sensor

Project Introduction

This project consists of multiple phases. It originated from our team's participation as sophomore newcomers in the HIT Smartcar & Innovation Club(HSIC).

During these two phases, our team developed a CCD-based smart car and a Camera-based line-tracking vehicle respectively, building on the club's existing technical foundations. Under the guidance of faculty advisors and senior club members, we conducted preliminary competitions.

Following the year-long HSIC competition cycle, we integrated our accumulated experience to design a multi-functional scenario-switching sensor vehicle as part of a national innovation training program.

Hardware Design

Since the club had provided essential hardware components including the vehicle chassis, motors, servos, sensors, and mounting accessories. So for hardware system, our team concentrated on PCB design.

Shown below is the main PCB integrating core components such as the microcontroller and motor drivers and so on. Specific technical details, including schematic diagrams of voltage transformer, and driver circuits are omitted for confidentiality.

Achievements

During the competition phase, our team won first prize in the preliminary round of the Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT) Internal Competition and third prize in the HIT Invitational Competition. Additionally, in the follow-up project, we received first prize in the 2018 Innovation and Entrepreneurship Training Program.
